Bestival Tickets

Simply put, there is not another festival in the UK with as much of a sense of playfulness as the Bestival. Need proof? The family friendly event features something called The Breastival – a private tipi for mothers who need a bit privacy for nursing. In fact, the fun begins before you even buy your ticket. The Bestival website is an interactive psychedelic experience that would be amazing even if it wasn't your gateway to Bestival tickets and information. On the site, a magical fairy guides you through a pastische of assorted characters, events and amenities you are sure to encounter when you arrive on the Isle of Wight for the actual show. Formed in 2004 the Bestival is held on a gorgeous plot of land called Robin Hill. Yes... the theme park. And the entire Bestival does have the feeling of an amusement park ride with people in costumes, bizarre scenes and nearly 55,000 people with the same idea. To act out and have fun. But to have fun, all 55,000 people need Bestival tickets. So make sure to get yours sooner rather than later.

Bestival 2011

The Bestival is an interesting contrast to the other big music festival hosted by the Isle of Wight. Known as a “boutique” festival, the Bestival lacks much of the corporate feel that many major UK music festivals have. Apart from being smaller than those festivals the Bestival has a more diverse lineup or true Indie bands, not just bands you'll find in the Indie section of HMV. Saturday night of the Bestival has become famous as the fancy dress day, and even made a run at the Guinness Book of world records for most people in fancy dress at one event. With 55,000 people participating, they eventually set the record in 2010. The festival is also alternative in its commitment to the environment. The Bestival aims to be carbon neutral and provide a large selection of vegetarian food. The Bestival even offers a secret stage every year featuring surprise guests. As far as the bands go, BBC 1 Radio host Rob da Bank curates the lineup, and as someone with exposure to music of all kinds he puts together a show that mixes the best of mainstream and unknown artists. It is a big reason the Bestival was voted best festival in the UK in 2010.
