This is, however, what has made the band so popular and has allowed them to release a whopping 7 albums in the last 10 years. The 6 piece, fronted by Dick Valentine (not his real name of course), fuses together a mix of rock, disco, new wave, garage and punk that produces result that sounds as exciting as you’d expect. Coupled with Valentine’s often humourous and irreverent lyrics Electric Six are a band that never fails to impress its fans.

Coming out the same Detroit scene that produced The White Stripes, Electric Six gained a notoriety that has stuck ever since with their first release in 2003. ‘Fire’, which was a huge hit in the U.K., was particularly famous for producing the singles ‘Danger! High Voltage’ and ‘Gay Bar’. With the release of the third album single ‘Dance Commander’ Fire made it on to the list of top records for 2003 and cemented the group’s U.K. following. Despite their quirky eccentricity Electric Six have an incredible reputation as a live band. Wearing their trademark office suits the group have a unique ability to mix the fun aspect of their sound with great musicianship. Their concerts are always well received given the amount of crowd pleasers they have in their arsenal.
