Fight Like Apes from Dublin have been hailed as one of the best musical acts of their generation. The band were formed in 2006 after Mary-Kate Geraghty and Jamie Fox met on holiday and discovered they both came from the same area. After both found their academic endeavours were less than satisfying they packed it all in and decided they would form a band. After the line up was completed Fight Like Apes recorded their debut EP in 2007. The songs gained a lot of attention in the blogging community and in local media which propelled them into underground success and subsequently their first U.K. tour and festival dates. Fight Like Apes are known particularly for their imaginative, and very lengthy, titles, for instance ‘How Am I Supposed to Kill You If You Have All the Guns?’ and latest album ‘The Body of Christ and the Legs of Tina Turner’.
With the release of their second studio album in 2010 Fight Like Apes set out on a long tour of the U.K. and Ireland. Having honed their live shows supporting the likes of The Von Bondies, The Prodigy and Kasabian, Fight Like Apes have developed a live show that sets them aside from many other bands. Through their wide range of influences the group have evolved a style that has the shoegazy elements of My Bloody Valentine but with an experimental side that echoes their fondness for Tom Waits. It’s these influences that turn a live show into something more. Whether they are playing synths with their heads or turning pots and pans into percussion instruments or smashing up their instruments and rolling about on stage you will definitely be glad you got hold of Fight Like Apes tickets.
The group’s latest tour is being talked about by music fans and journalists alike, usually being amongst the list of things you absolutely have to see. Whether tickets are sold out or not we’ll show you the best places around the web to book your Fight Like Apes tickets.
