Glade Festival tickets
We all know the Glastonbury Festival. Alongside perhaps only one or two others this is in no uncertain terms one of the most famous events to take place during the year. Its not only the history but the size of the festival that never ceases to impress. In 2007 one section of Glastonbury, the Glade arena, became a festival in its own right. For a time this small section of the famous festival was a hub for everything that was cutting edge in the electronic music world. The reputation it has acquired, notably bolstered by winning the Best Dance Festival award in 2008, has given it the status of an almost ‘mini Glastonbury’ geared towards electronic dance music fans.
As with its parent festival Glade incorporates many elements into the event, not necessarily only music. Festival organisers have stated in the past that its birth came out of a “love of electronic music, free spiritedness and alternative culture.” It is exactly these points the this awesome festival champions. With ever adapting and changing features Glade never fails to attract those party goers in search of a great time but in the intimacy and wonder of a smaller festival. Previous years have seen individual tents devoted to their own genre - ‘Breaksday’ for breakbeat, ‘Origin’ for Psytrance and ‘Sancho Panza’ for house amongst others. Areas promoting healthier ways of living and the joining of art, music and expression - whilst not forgetting to have fun of course. In 2010 the festival unfortunately had to be cancelled due to unexpected and excessive costs imposed by local councils which meant that Glade simply could not maintain its ethos of free expression and enjoyment of the countryside surroundings. However, the festival, now at a new location not far outside of London, is back up and running. This will only serve to push to increase the popularity of this years event. With so many unable to attend previously, fans of the underground electronic scene will be eagerly awaiting tickets for 2011.
In the past the Glade festival has played host to such acts as Squarepusher, The Bays, Venetian Snares, Rusko, Andy C, Booka Shade, Pendulum, Autechre and The Orb. This years festival promises to continue the long line of established and up and coming artists. Following disappointment last year tickets will be in high demand and like with previous occasions are expected to sell out.
