If Glenn Hughes isn’t a huge name then he should be. Not many people can boast a music career with such bands and longevity as Glenn Hughes. Multi instrumentalist Hughes is most famous for his bass playing and vocals. He began his career in the funk rock band Trapeze. In 1973 he left the band and was brought in as bassist and vocalist for Deep Purple. After his stint with Purple Hughes embarked on his solo career and completed an album with Pat Thrall titled Hughes/Thrall that is widely considered to be his best work. During the 80s Hughes continued his work with some of the biggest names in rock music. During this time he worked with both Gary Moore and Black Sabbath and more recently his album Music for the Divine featured members of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Hughes is truly a rare breed of rock musician and vocalist who can combine his unique skill with the ability to create an incredible mesh of different styles.
Recent years has seen Glenn Hughes touring with new group Black Country Communion, a super-group of rock musicians including Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s son Jason Bonham. Glenn Hughes shows are one of the last great rock and roll performances. Over the years the man has played with the biggest bands and is probably the safest pair of hands you can be in if you want a great concert of honest, real rock music. In his shows he pays homage to some other rock greats and friends, performing various songs from throughout his career. Over the years Hughes has been given the name ‘Voice of Rock’ and he’s most definitely deserved it!
Glenn Hughes tickets don’t wait around. When someone of Hughes’ stature comes to town and he’s bringing along all these great musicians with him that’s when tickets sell out. We’ve search the internet to find the best Glenn Hughes tickets available though so you won’t have to pass this chance up.
