James is an alternative rock band from Manchester, England , formed in 1981. After working in the 80's , they went on to popularity with the launch of a series of hit singles during the decade, including "Say Something," "Sit Down" and "Laid". "Ring the Bells" also achieved wide appeal on the radio. After the departure of singer Tim Booth in 2001, the group became inactive, although the separation was not confirmed officially. In January 2007, the group announced it was returning to play concerts to test new material they had been working on since the layoff. James launched a new website thus, confirming initial five dates in the UK in April. The very web of Tim Booth also confirmed the return. On 16 March, James played a secret gig back in Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, before an audience of just 250 people.
