The lead singer of the band Underoath is very open about that fact that Underoath are a Christin band. He says, “We are Christian but] in a different way. We’re not like your average Christian band."[12] He further explains that Christianity is the "backbone of our lives, especially in the way that we handle certain things, but it’s not so much the backbone of our lyrics. It’s not like every song is a lesson from the Bible or something. It’s just normal life struggles." It is the foundation that has made Underoath one of the most popular bands in the genre and has also won the band fans outside of Christian circles.

An Underoath show is a fantastic live experience. These guys from Tampa Florida have been playing music together since 1997 which actually makes them one of the longest running bands of the genre. It means the band plays their songs tight and with purpose. It also means that in all of those years they have won a loyal following and depending on the market, their tickets are hard to come by.
